Modbury South Primary is located in the proximity of Tea Tree Plaza and Modbury Hospital. The school was opened in 1965. Modbury South Primary School is part of a multi-school campus with Modbury High School and Modbury Special School. As such we are known for our family and community hub atmosphere.
Apart from the well kept grounds and oval, the school has basketball and netball courts outside; a gym, a performing arts room; extensive shaded playground equipment as well as a reflective memorial garden for relaxation and there is an outdoor learning space as part of Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. The school is also WiFi compatible. A Resource Centre technology hub is in the open space unit and is across a small lane from the main part of the school. Our onsite preschool is next to the Resource Centre. An Out of School Hours and Vacation Care Program operates at the school.
We are in the Northern region and the Modbury Partnership. We work with other Modbury schools in Professional Learning Communities to support the learning of all staff. We value this opportunity as a small school to develop our skills and understandings of student learning. Our mission statements to develop lifelong powerful learners reflects our school vision and values. Our values are acceptance, independence, powerful learners and respect. Early years students have a buddy who becomes their special friend for the year. This model allows for all students and staff to get to know one another and supports our commitment of students working within cross age peer groups.
Welcome to Modbury South Primary School one of the popular educators in your Hope Valley area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
